Fire Safety Infrastructure Unit
The Fire Safety Infrastructure Unit assess the provisions for fire safety being proposed for designated developments are commensurate to the risks identified. The Fire Safety Infrastructure Unit provides consultation services to industry and agencies on fire safety performance-based design for:
- State significant infrastructure (SSI) and State significant development (SSD).
- Developments classified as Crown building work
- Private school and private hospital developments.
The Fire Safety Infrastructure Unit is responsible for:
- Undertaking PBDB consultation and provision of technical advice on performance solutions
- Consultation with stakeholders and negotiation on proposed performance solutions for a project
- Assessment of a performance solution report for the purpose of issuing a written report or initial fire safety report
- Attendance at consultation meetings with project stakeholders
- Undertaking inspections of SSI for the purpose of issuing a written report.
