Crown development

Crown agencies provide essential services and infrastructure in areas such as education, health, social housing, transport, legal and justice services. Under section 294 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021, Crown includes public authorities (other than councils), Australian universities, TAFE establishments and Crown cemetery operators.

How do I consult with FRNSW on Crown development?

To seek consultation with FRNSW on Crown development, the relevant applicant may:

*Note: Legislated response timeframes do not apply to Crown development projects, however FRNSW will endeavour to adhere to them where possible.

*Note: Inspections for Crown development are referred to the Fire Safety Pre-Occupancy Unit.
