The Fire Safety Branch is part of the Community Safety Directorate under the Field Operations Division. Our primary objective is to protect the community by reducing the risks of fire and emergencies in the built environment – and protect the irreplaceable.
The Fire Safety Branch is led by Chief Superintendent Greg Rankin, Chief Superintendent Fire Safety, and comprises the following business units:
We provide consultancy services, assessment, technical advice, and enforcement to the building and fire safety industries, and offer guidance to authorities and government agencies to ensure fire safety is commensurate to identified risks, and comply with regulatory and statutory obligations.
Fire and Rescue NSW is committed to the Code of conduct and ethics for NSW government sector employees and the NSW Supplier Code of Conduct. These codes outline the minimum set of expectations and behaviours for doing business with NSW Government.
In providing services to our customers, all staff are required to stringently adhere to the Conflicts of Interest Policy and Procedure and the Fraud and Corruption Policy. Improper conduct will be reported and managed appropriately.
