Easter Show 2026

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is inviting families attending this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show to visit its interactive display and experience a hands-on mix of emergency response capability, practical safety education and family-friendly fun.

Returning to its spacious grassed site at Cathy Freeman Reserve, on the corner of Grand Parade and Showground Road, the FRNSW display is an opportunity for visitors of all ages to talk to firefighters.

As part of the broader Emergency Services Challenge, children can visit the FRNSW, NSW Police, NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) and NSW State Emergency Service (SES) displays, collect a challenge booklet, complete safety puzzles and receive a free themed rubber ball.

FRNSW’s fun, interactive display features:

  • Fire helmet giveaways and practical safety information
  • Firefighters, fire investigators and specialist crews
  • Modern and historic fire trucks and rescue capability
  • Interactive displays on home fire safety and lithium-ion battery safety
  • Appearances by the Liquid Ignition Detection dogs
  • Aviation, drone, water and flood rescue capability displays
  • Safety information from the EPA, Transport for NSW and NSW Fair Trading

A major attraction for families will be Marshall, the much-loved firefighting pup from Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol, appearing multiple times daily across the Easter long weekend.

Visitors can also book a free Home Fire Safety Visit and learn about safe charging and use of lithium-ion batteries, reducing kitchen fire risk, creating a home fire escape plan and maintaining working smoke alarms.

Safer-Shed demonstration New this year is the ‘Safer Shed’ demonstration, developed by FRNSW in partnership with the NSW Environment Protection Authority and informed by collaboration with industry partners.

This display highlights safe and unsafe lithium-ion battery charging, storage, handling and disposal behaviours, helping visitors recognise common hazards and learn simple tips to prevent fires in homes, garages and workshops.

Quotes attributed to FRNSW Commissioner  Jeremy Fewtrell: “The Royal Easter Show is a great opportunity to connect with the community and deliver practical safety messages in a fun and memorable way.

“FRNSW is proud to be part of the Easter Show, giving families the chance to meet firefighters, explore our capabilities and take away practical safety advice they can use at home.

“Our display is designed for adults and kids alike, reinforcing messages around home fire safety, lithium-ion battery safety and emergency preparedness.

“With hands-on exhibits, including a fire truck and our new Safer Shed demonstration, we want people to have fun and leave with a better understanding of how small safety actions can save lives.”
