Firefighters tackling large blaze at paper storage facility

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews are battling a major fire at a paper processing plant in Matraville, in Sydney's east.
FRNSW responded to numerous Triple Zero (000) calls shortly after 1pm.
On arrival at the Botany Road business, crews were confronted with a rapidly spreading fire and heavy smoke in the vicinity.
Approximately 20 fire trucks and 80 firefighters are tackling the fire, that is being driven by strong winds.
Authorities have accounted for all staff from the business.
The fire has also damaged cars in an adjoining street.
FRNSW has assigned a range of specialist resources to the emergency, including aerial appliances, operational communications and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) specialists.
This is a developing situation and operations will be ongoing.
Residents in the affected area are urged to take the following precautions:
- Ensure windows and doors are closed to help prevent smoke entering their homes or workplaces
